For this finale episode, we join Derek as he takes his son to the Great Wall of China. Derek is the ultimate dad. He’s a devoted husband, father and friend with an endless supply of patience and stamina for his son!
The Great Wall will be one of the most memorable moments in their lives: it’s both a physical feat (it takes 12 hours to climb!) as well as a spiritual journey–the wall was once used as protection from invaders, but now Derek sees it more like protecting those who live inside China.
As he tells his son at the top, “You can see all these little villages down below that no one would ever know about if this weren’t here.”
The series finale includes footage taken while filming on location in Beijing during Spring Festival 2018 when people were celebrating Chinese New Year.
